Tombstone Tuesday - June 9, 2015, Denison Boyer
Denison Boyer was born on August 23, 1845, the son of Valentine and Nancy Boyer. He was born in Rose township, Oakland County, Michigan. Denison served in the Civil War. He enlisted in Company L, Michigan 10th Cavalry Regiment on 18 Sep 1863. He was promoted to Full Corporal on 01 Jun 1865 and mustered out on 11 Nov 1865 at Memphis, TN. He married Charlotte Maria Sherwood. They had two daughter; Blanch who was 1874 and Mable who was born in 1876. They lived in Milford Michigan. Denison died on June 12, 1925. He is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Section 5. Sadly there is no tombstone for Denison or his wife. So I am showing you the Cemetery photo.
It is a shame that a Corporal in the Civil War does not have a tombstone because the government would have provided a tombstone for Denison. I'll have to contact the cemetery and see if the grave can be identified to an exact location. If so, then we need to contact the government to see if we could still get a stone put on Dennison's grave.
Happy Hunting,
Jan
