Alvin Oliver Smith was the son of James W. Smith and Oella Denney born in Wells County Indiana on Dec 18, 1873.
This is an old tin type photo which I discovered in my Grandfather's photos. It was likely taken of Cora and Alvin shortly after they were married.
Alvin married Cora May Crites in Wells County Indiana on December 24, 1892. They lived in Indiana until 1919 when they relocated to Burton, Michigan. Alvin died on January 19, 1925 while working on the assembly line at the GM automotive factory in Flint, Michigan. This factory is still operating today and is known as the GM Truck plant.
Cora remained in Flint after Alvin died. Her oldest son Everett had married Lillian Losee in 1923. Everett and Lillian lived near Alvin and Cora on Term Street in Burton. In May of 1929, she married John Daly and eventually they moved to Clio.
